The Sterling Premium line is the first to take truly high-quality green beans and decaffeinates them in small lots, creating the world's first truly "gourmet quality" decaffeinated coffee. Slightly more expensive, but worth it.

Sterling Premium coffees use the Mountain Spring Water Process to remove caffeine. This is a 100% chemical-free process, generally considered the cleanest, most pure way to decaffeinate coffee.

This process uses only water, while most coffees are decaffeinated using chemical solvents, like methylene chloride. While the United States standard is 97% caffeine removal, the Water Process lives up to the higher standard of 99.92%. Additionally, the Mountain Water Process is incredibly effective at removing the caffeine without removing the full coffee taste.
